As with other types of mesothelioma, it is quite difficult to identify the symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma in the initial stages. Generally its symptoms are quite common with that of pneumonia. These symptoms generally are shortness of breath, irregular heart beat, coughing, varying degrees of chest pain, and heart palpitations. All these symptoms can normally be confused with the other ailments of heart. Thus it is advisable that if the patient has had some history of working in an asbestos rich environment, he should immediately go for further tests that would confirm whether or not he is suffering from pericardial mesothelioma.
